Abnormal Heat set to continue In Tamil Nadu

The pattern of above normal temperature is set to continue in Tamil Nadu for next 4-5 days. However, there is strong divergence among numerical models on the convective rainfall for tomorrow. Some leading models indicate the possibility of thundershowers in Madurai-Sivaganga belt as well in delta regions of Nagapattinam-Tiruvarur and surrounding regions later at evening/night.

City Outlook:

Chennai – No respite from rain gods as maximum temperature set to remain above normal close to 36-37 C and nights will continue to remain warm.
Coimbatore – With a chance of light rains and partly cloudy day, the maxima will settle near 33-34 C.
Madurai – Slight dip in temperatures at around 36 C owing to overnight rains. Chance of thunderstorms returning to the city/suburbs/outskirts at evening/night.
Trichy – Another hot day with temperature seen at 37-38 C. Chance of light rains later at evening / night.
Vellore – Searing day on cards with mercury peaking to 37-38 C with very less chance of rains.
