As easterlies weaken, the mercury is on the rise in most parts of Tamil Nadu. Central Interiors in particular will see hot conditions prevailing most of the day. Karur, Trichy, Salem, Madurai zones will touch 39/40C and outdoor activities should be avoided in the late afternoons. Coastal areas will see marginal rise in the day time heat. Night time temperatures throughout the state will continue to be warm.
Isolated rains will continue to lash Kerala today. Parts of North East India will witness seasonal Thundershowers. Heat wave conditions are forecast for parts of Vidharbha, Gujarat and Chattisgarh and an advisory is issued for the same.
