A low pressure area has formed in the Northwest Bay of Bengal & adjoining coastal areas of the Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal yesterday morning. Now it has become a well marked low pressure area and stays over the same region.
This Well Marked LPA is expected to move west-northwestwards, towards northwest India. This will produce favourable conditions for further advance of southwest monsoon into some more parts of north Arabian sea, most parts of northwest India and Northern India during next 4-5 days.
As a result of this, Heavy to very heavy rain are very likely today at isolated places over Konkan & Goa, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Coastal Karnataka & Kerala, Uttarakhand, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, South Interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

Chennai – Generally cloudy sky with an expected maximum of around 37 degrees and a minimum of 28 degrees. Chances of rain exist.
Coimbatore – Generally cloudy sky with a high of 33 degrees and a low of 23 degrees. Few drizzles are expected.
Madurai – Generally cloudy sky & Maximum is expected to be around 36 degrees and a minimum of 26 degrees.
Tiruchi – A cloudy sky is expected with a High of 38 degrees and a low of 27 degrees.
Vellore – Generally cloudy sky is expected with a Maximum of 37 degrees and a minimum of 27 degrees.
