The North East Monsoon that made onset is expected to pickup shortly over the State.
As the cyclonic circulation South east of TN becomes more marked in another 24 hours, the showers that are isolated may turn widespread in a day. These rains over coastal and Interior Tamil Nadu is expected to continue for another few days. Numerical models predict sustained precipitation as a resultant of this upcoming rainwave.
City Outlook:
Chennai – A warm day with maximum temperature around 32C with fair chances of intermittent showers on cards.
Vellore – Maximum temperature around 30C and minimum of 25C likely. Fair chances of precipitation cannot be ruled out.
Coimbatore – Maximum temperature of 30-32C and minimum temperature around 23C with moderate to heavy rains likely.
Madurai – A day temperature of around 32C and minimum temperature of 24/25C with good chances of intermittent rains.
Trichy – Maximum temperature hovering around 33/34C and minimum temperature around 25C along with rains are on the cards.
