As the core monsoon slows over peninsular India down due to the axis propagation to the north, coupled with a low over central India, the chances look better for convective showers over coastal and Interior Tamil Nadu. With most models hitting this trend in the coming days, it opens up the door for the much needed evening showers especially in the coastal regions aided by the onset of a timely sea breeze which was virtually lacking for a while. There is a high probability of thunderstorms in interior and south TN as well in the days to come.

Chennai – A warm and rather humid day leading to isolated showers over one or two places during the evening. Max of 37 and Minimum of 28 degrees.
Coimbatore – A partly cloudy day with occasional drizzles. Maximum of 31 degrees and Minimum of 22 degrees.
Madurai – An uncomfortable hot day leading to a relatively cooler evening. Max of 39 degrees , a chance for a shower or two exists.
Trichy – A warm and breezy day leading to a pleasant night. Max of 37 degrees and Minimum of 27 degrees.
Vellore – A rather warm and cloudy day. Good chances of a Thunderstorm during the evening. Max of 37 degrees and minimum of 26 degrees.
