Extremely Severe Cyclonic storm Fani is expected to make landfall between Gopalpur and Chandbali, close to Puri in the morning hours. Maximum sustained wind speed of 170-180 kmph gusting to 200 kmph is expected during landfall. It is a very dangerous cyclone and all necessary measures should be taken.
Heat wave conditions are expected to continue in Tamil Nadu. Chennai Nungambakkam recorded the highest maximum temperature in 2 years of 41.5 C. No respite is expected for next few days.
