Fresh surge of monsoon westerlies likely over Kerala & Karnataka

Monsoon continues to show its vigour over most parts of the country as a low pressure area over North West Bay of Bengal off West Bengal coast and the associated cyclonic circulation would usher in fairly widespread to widespread rainfall over western Himalayan region , eastern parts of India and heavy falls over UP in the next few days time. Isolated heavy rains are also expected over Himachal and Uttharakhand and Odisha  in the next two days.

Fresh surge of monsoon westerlies would ensure heavy rains over Kerala, Karnataka and Ghat areas of TN in the next 48 hours.

Near normal seasonal temperatures are expected to prevail over most parts of TN with isolated rainfall activity over Northern regions of the state.

City Outlook:

Chennai – A warm day with highs of around 35C with chances of showers in the evening/night.

Vellore – A day high of 34-35C with fair chances of thundershowers.

Coimbatore – A cool day with intermittent light to moderate rains. Temperature to hover around 28/29C.

Madurai – A bright day with max. temperature of around 35C.

Trichy – A day high of 34/35C with chances of precipitation later in the day
