Strong monsoon has left scores of destruction to lives and properties in Kerala as monsoon is in no mood to slow down, all thanks to a low pressure area in Bay of Bengal pulling moist westerlies in Arabian sea towards the west coast. Ghats of Kerala in particular has had lot of rains and today is expected to be same. Coastal areas of the state will also get heavy rains but the respite should be expected by the weekend when strong Westerlies dwindle down. Ghats of South Interior Karnataka is forecast to get heavy rains swelling the rivers in Tunga and Cauvery catchments. Over Central India, active monsoon conditions slipped into Odisha and Chattisgarh and providing vital rains.
In Tamilnadu, ghats of Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Theni, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari will see decent rains owing to active monsoon in neighborhood. Places adjoining ghats also see passing showers at times. Elsewhere in the state, warm and sunny climes will prevail and turning showery in patches by evening.

Chennai – City likely to see cloudy skies with good possibility light rain. Max temp of 31- 32 C and minimum of 26 C likely.
Vellore – Likely to see a cloudy day with possibility of light rain. Max temp of 34 C and minimum of 27 C.
Coimbatore – Showers likely in city with max temp of 26 C and minimum of 23 C likely.
Tiruchi – Mostly cloudy skies ahead with max temp of 34 C and minimum of 27 C.
Madurai – Mostly cloudy skies with possibility of drizzle. Max temp of 32 C and minimum of 26 C.
