Harbinger of NEM onset in Sight

As we move into the final week of October and the dying embers of SWM Thunderstorms gradually fade away from Tamil Nadu’s weather scenario, the stage is probably set for the grand gala opening of NEM by this weekend as Easterlies surge is expected in the Bay of Bengal.

With the Low Pressure Area (LPA) over Northeastern states gradually dissipating overland, favourable conditions are likely to develop for further withdrawal of South West monsoon from remaining parts of northeastern states, some more parts of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra & Goa around 24th October.

Tamil Nadu will see a subdued weather today with a couple of thunderstorms expected in the North Interior, North coastal and Delta districts.

City Outlook:

Chennai – Generally Cloudy sky is expected with a high of 34 degrees and a low of 26 degrees temperature with light Possibilities of rain.

Vellore – Partially cloudy sky with an expected high of 34 degrees and a low of 25 degrees.

Coimbatore – Mostly cloudy Sky is expected. Max & Min temp would be around 33 & 23 C.

Trichy – Partly cloudy sky with light rain possibility. Temp – Max of 36 degrees and a minimum of 25 degrees.

Madurai – Partly Cloudy sky with thunderstorms in the vicinity with an expected high temp of 36 degrees and a low of 24 degrees.
