Hot and humid conditions to set prevail

The Upper Air Cyclonic circulation (UAC) over central parts of  Madhya Pradesh extending upto 1.5 km above mean sea level  persists. The trough from this system to comorin area across west  Vidharbha, Marathwada, interior Karnataka and Interior Tamilnadu  extending upto 0.9km above mean sea level also persists. No  significant change in maximum temperatures expected for next 2 –  3 days.
Thunderstorms accompanied with gusty winds are very likely at  isolated places over Interior Tamilnadu with more prominence in  ghats area of Karnataka.

City Outlook:
Chennai – A warm and humid day with maximum of around 35-36C and  minimum temperatures may stay close to 28 degrees.
Madurai – Yet another hot day with maximum of around 38 to 39  degrees and a minimum of around 27 degrees.
Trichy – Maximum of around 39 degrees and a minimum of 27 degrees  with little chances of respite.
Coimbatore – Maximum temperature set to hover around 37C with a  much better night temperature at 25-26C.
Vellore – No large change with maximum hovering around 40 degrees  and a minimum of around 27 degrees.
