Hot weather likely over Tamil Nadu

With onset of summer and gradual weakening of easterlies, hot weather likely to prevail over Tamil Nadu with less possibility of rain. The temperatures are likely to gradually increase from morning onwards touching 38 to 40 c over many places in Tamil Nadu. Places near coastal TN will witness temperatures between 36C and 37C while interiors are likely to see temperatures above 40C. Andhra Pradesh also likely to witness hot weather with no rain in sight.

Thunderstorm likely over Western TN, South Karnataka and North Kerala.

City Outlook:

Chennai – Chennai city likely to witness mostly clear skies with high of 36C and low of 28 – 29C.

Trichy – Partly cloudy skies with high of 39C and low of 28C.

Coimbatore – Partly cloudy skies with scattered Thunderstorms may occur during evening time. High of 36C and a low of 24C likely.

Vellore – Hot day ahead with high of 39-40 C and low of 28C likely.

Madurai – Partly cloudy skies with a high of 39C and low of 28C likely.
