Monsoon all set to reinvigorate in west coast

South West Monsoon is all set to enter a new lease of life at the end of the season by throwing up a monsoon driving low near Odisha by the weekend or early next week. This will provide much needed impetus for the monsoon winds to align itself and target vast swathes of Indian Subcontinent. Rainfall activity will increase a notch in west coast more so in Kerala and Coastal Karnataka from now on. Central India is expected to reap major benefits allaying an end to a deficit August

In Tamil Nadu, the prevailing winds from east is expected to die down making way for seasonal westerlies to take over. Isolated rains are expected in parts of South Tamil Nadu owing to the lingering circulation near Laccadives but major consensus among global models is that there will be a sharp reduction in rains for most of the state into the weekend with the exception of Ghats adjoining Kerala.

City Outlook:

Chennai – Seasonably warm and partly cloudy with max of 34/35C. Isolated showers cannot be ruled out.

Vellore – Bright and sunny as mercury scales 34/35C and no chance of rain.

Trichy – Warm day in the offing with temperatures in the range of 34/35C with slim chance for rains.

Madurai – Warm weather will continue with highs of 34/35C. Slight chance of rains does exist.

Coimbatore – Warm and balmy at 32/33C with very less chance of precipitation.
