Seasonal monsoon weather takes charge of East Central India as low pressure area prevails in Head Bay in the neighbourhood of West Bengal and Odisha coasts. Heavy falls are forecast for Odisha, Jharkhand and Chattisgarh in the wake of this system even as it intensifies and beelines into Central India. Prevailing circulations over Uttar Pradesh keeps parts of the state wet. Himalayan states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will witness heavy rains as well.
Down South, monsoon has well and truly taken a break barring patches of Konkan. Mainly dry weather is forecast for Kerala Coastal Karnataka and adjoining ghats. Over Tamil Nadu, warmer than normal day time temperatures can be observed over most parts and nights tend to be warmer. However, Thundershowers might break out in the interiors of the state by evening providing relief from heat. Coastal areas will be fairly warm and humid and patchy rains are a possibility especially in NTN.

Chennai – A cloudy day to begin with Easing up later in the day with day highs hovering around 35 degrees. Possibility of late evening showers cannot be ruled out.
Coimbatore – A cool and comfortable morning turning slightly warm with a day high of 33 degrees C. Few isolated showers possible.
Madurai – Partly cloudy skies at day break. A warm and sunny afternoon. Day high of 36 degrees to expect. A chance of a shower or two.
Trichy – A Pleasant morning with few clouds around. Day high of 36 degrees with a chance of isolated rains towards evening.
Vellore – Periods of intermittent sunshine. Thunderstorm development towards late afternoon/evening can’t be ruled out. Day highs to hover around 36 degrees.
