Monsoon showers to mingle with festival of lights

The Southwest monsoon has officially withdrawn from the country as of today. The Northeast monsoon is likely to commence over parts of South Peninsular India in the next 2-3 days. Minimum temperatures are likely to dip further across parts of North and Northwest India. Cyclone Kyant’s remnants lie as a low pressure area off Andhra Pradesh coast. This feature is likely to cause heavy rains at isolated places over Coastal Andhra and North Coastal TN.

Heavy to moderate rains possible at isolated places over Coastal TN. Thundershowers possible at isolated places over interior TN.


City Outlook:

Chennai – Mostly cloudy sky with a chance of light to moderate rainfall. Maximum of 33 degrees and a minimum of 26 degrees.

Coimbatore – Above normal temperatures to persist, a high of 35 degrees and a low of 23 degrees.

Madurai – Maximum of 36 degrees and a minimum of 24 degrees. Chances of a thunderstorm later in the day.

Tiruchi – Warm day with partly cloudy skies. Maximum of 36 degrees and a minimum of 24 degrees.

Vellore – Partly cloudy sky with a maximum of 36 degrees and a minimum of 23 degrees.
