Persistent Rains To Continue Pattering The Peninsula

Yet another round of evening thundershowers awaits most parts of the southern peninsula. However, with an intensifying trough of low pressure in the Bay of Bengal, this historic bout of rains is nearing an end. The end is not today though. Cloudy skies and a cool forenoon could pave the way for a showery evening in eastern Tamil Nadu while in the rest of the southern peninsula, partly cloudy skies with hot and humid conditions are likely to prevail. Evening thunderstorms are possible across the peninsula with dry weather in the northern, central parts of the country.

City Outlook:

Chennai – Cool and cloudy morning with drizzles in the air, keeping the maximum temperature at 32-33 C. A shower or two likely.

Madurai – Hot weather on the cards with the temperature peaking at 34-35 C. A shower might develop in the vicinity by evening.

Trichy – Partly cloudy weather to prevail in the morning followed by a warm afternoon with maximums of 32-33 C. Thundershowers might occur in the evening.

Coimbatore – Cloudy skies with drizzles and light rains in the vicinity. Cool day with the mercury peaking at 30 C.

Vellore – Warm day with partly cloudy skies and a little bit of sunshine contributing to maximum temperatures of 33 C. Showers possible in the evening.
