South west monsoon is well and truly active over the northern regions of the country, Rayalaseema and pockets of North east India. The upper air circulation over west central Bay and adjoining areas of north coastal AP has been largely instrumental in fairly widespread rains over places like Duvvur 225 mm, Nandayal 187 mm, Simhadripuram 155 mm of Rayalaseema region.
Temperatures over TN is likely to remain normal in the next few days with scattered showers over North coastal regions and pockets of Delta region has a fair chance of recording good rainfall in the next few days. Isolated showers also possible over the ghat regions and places around Coimbatore.

Chennai – Scattered cloud cover at day break. Periods of intermittent sunshine and the day high staying close to normal. Max temperature should peak around 35 degrees. Chances of showers in the evening.
Coimbatore – Plenty of clouds around with a gentle breeze blowing across. A day high of 31 degrees with light showers at intervals.
Madurai – A comfortable day with a slight drop in the max temperature. A shower or two over the region. A high of 33 degrees.
Trichy – Few patchy clouds. Sunny intervals with a high of 34 degrees. A shower or two in the evening.
Vellore – Partly cloudy skies to herald the day. A warm afternoon with a high of 35 degrees. Possibility of a thunderstorm in the evening.
