Yesterday Chennai city saw one of the heaviest spell in few years with Mylapore recording 230 mm in span of 7-8 hrs. Rainfall is set to decrease as Dry air from High pressure over Central India is likely to engulf North Coastal TN including Chennai city for next 3-4 days. While dry air takes grip on North Tamil Nadu, South interior Tamil Nadu will continue to witness rains .
What’s in store for next week
Leading weather models predicting an easterly wave is likely to impact Entire Tamil Nadu and South AP from November 3rd onwards , bringing widespread rains. A trough may develop after November 6th over Southwest Bay of Bengal causing enhanced rainfall actually over Tamil Nadu. More on this will be posted later.
