Scattered rainfall likely over South Tamil Nadu

An easterly wave is expected to impact Tamil Nadu and as a result scattered rainfall is likely to occur over South Tamil Nadu coast and isolated rains may occur over North Tamil Nadu coast. Rains are expected to extend into parts of interior Tamil Nadu as the day progresses. Forecasts continue to suggest a slight increase in rainfall over coastal areas of Tamil Nadu in the coming week.

Moving up north, cold wave conditions would prevail over parts of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir. Minimum temperatures are likely to dip over Central and Eastern India in the upcoming days.

 

City outlook:

Chennai – Partly cloudy sky with a day high of 32 C. One or two showers at isolated places cannot be ruled out.

Madurai – Partly cloudy sky will prevail with showers possible later in the day. Day max will be around 32 C.

Coimbatore – Cloudy conditions with day high settling around 30 C.

Trichy – Partly cloudy sky is expected and day max will hover around 31 C.

Vellore –  A warm day with max around 31 C.
