South TN To Receive More Rains While The Depression In Bay of Bengal Intensifies

The southern peninsula is all set to face yet another warm day with partly cloudy skies. Southern parts of Tamil Nadu could experience showers in the afternoon or evening for the umpteenth consecutive day. The system in the Bay of Bengal is likely to gradually intensify and march towards the Myanmar coast. As a result, the people of the southern peninsula would have to wait longer than expected for the north-east monsoon rains as they seem to be more than a week away from now.

Hot weather with temperatures exceeding 35-36 C is expected in a few pockets of interior Tamil Nadu and several parts of Rayalaseema.

City outlook:

Chennai – A warm, dry day with partly cloudy skies. Maximum temperatures of 34-35 C likely.

Trichy – Fairly hot day on the cards with slight chances of afternoon showers. Temperatures could cap at 34-35 C.

Madurai – Partly cloudy day ahead with periods of warm, humid weather. Parts of the district could experience rains in the evening with maximum temperatures of 35 C.

Vellore – Hot day likely with little chances of rains. The mercury could rise up to 35 C.

Coimbatore – A humid day awaits with maximum temperatures of 32-33 C. Light rains could occur in the afternoon.
