Southern zone to continue seeing convectional activity

Owing to favorable atmospheric conditions, many parts of TN have been getting light to moderate rainfall in the last few days. Under the influence of a developing trough along the coast, this beneficial trend is expected to continue through out this week. Meanwhile, max temperatures will continue to be in mid-30s near the coast and slightly warmer in the interiors.
Monsoonal activity continues to be active in areas adjoining the Himalayan foothills with moderate to heavy rainfall expected in parts of Uttaranchal, UP and W Bengal.


City Outlook:
Chennai – Seasonally warm with high of about 36 degrees. Possibility of a heavy thundershower developing over the evening.
Vellore – Some clouds and warm with a high of about 36 degrees and low of about 26 degrees. Thunderstorms could develop over the afternoon leading to moderate showers.
Madurai – Hot with a max of about 38C. Possibility of isolated thunderstorms exists.
Coimbatore – Partly cloudy with high of about 33C and a low of about 22 degrees.
Trichy – Clear day with a high of about 38 degrees. Thunderstorms could develop over the evening on this day.
