Southwest monsoon likely to be vigorous with low pressure lying close to Odhisa coast

The low pressure area over north west Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify further into a depression during next 24 hrs. It is likely to move in a west north west direction. Under its influence, heavy to very heavy rains likely to occur over Odhisa, Chattisgarh areas of India. The monsoon fury likely to continue over Kerala with heavy to very heavy rains likely during next 24 hrs. Ghats of Kerala, Tamil Nadu likely to witness very heavy spell of rain. As per models slight reduction of rains possible over Kerala from tomorrow/day after tomorrow onwards.

Coming to TN, pleasant weather likely over most parts of Tamil Nadu. Northern as well as delta districts of Tamil Nadu may witness light rain towards evening or night.

City Outlook:

Chennai – City likely to see cloudy skies with good possibility light rain. Max temp of 31- 32 C and minimum of 26 C likely.

Vellore – Likely to see a cloudy day with possibility of light rain. Max temp of 34 C and minimum of 27 C.

Coimbatore – Showers likely in city with max temp of 26 C and minimum of 23 C likely.

Tiruchi – Mostly cloudy skies ahead with max temp of 34 C and minimum of 27 C.
