Sweltering sun is here to stay

Typical late April heat will continue to prevail all across Tamil Nadu with interiors set to be the hottest. Trichy Madurai Karur Vellore zones will touch 40C mark yet again and there is no respite from the sweltering sun any sooner. Coastal areas will continue to enjoy moderate climes owing to sea influence. Isolated showers may break out in the North west interiors of the state.

Isolated thunderstorms can be witnessed in Kerala, parts of Bihar and North eastern states. Heat wave conditions are forecast for Vidarbha.

City Outlook:

Chennai – Very warm and sunny with a high of 36C and low of 28C.

Vellore – Hot and sunny with daytime high of 40C, night will be warm at 27C.

Trichy – Hot and sunny with a high of 40C, night will continue to remain warm at 28C.

Madurai – Hot and sunny with max settling at 40C. Warm night to follow with lows of 27C.

Coimbatore – Hot and partly sunny with a high of 38C and a low of 26C. Thundershowers may occur in the city.
