Tamil Nadu Subjected To Derelict Rainfall Possibilities

The water starved extreme southern peninsula will have to continue remaining ravenous for rain as only isolated, light to moderate rains seem to be in the offing in the next few days. With a low pressure area developing in the Bay of Bengal, plentiful rainfall seems to be on the cards for many places in Odisha and eastern Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, Gujarat is also likely to witness tremendous rainfall due to a prevalent cyclonic circulation over the region. This could result in highly voluminous amounts of rain in Saurashtra and Kutch in particular. The monsoon trough, running between these two systems cuts across Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh, where heavy showers could occur due to embedded circulations in the monsoon trough. Moderate rainfall is likely to continue in the west coast.

City Outlook:

Chennai – Pleasant and cloudy day ahead with a maximum of 33-34 C. Light rains possible.

Trichy – On the other hand, very hot weather is likely in Trichy with temperatures inching 37-38 C. Showers possible in the evening.

Madurai – Searing heat on the cards as the mercury could hit 39 C in the afternoon. Showers may occur in the district.

Coimbatore – Warm and humid afternoon likely in the city with maximums of 33 C. Drizzles likely.

Vellore – Rather hot weather up ahead in the afternoon with the mercury scaling 36-37 C. Evening showers possible.
