The subdued monsoon conditions that is expected to prevail over next couple of weeks in the country did not yield much of an action across core monsoon zones. There is a trough of low extending from Orissa to south TN and an Upper cyclonic circulation running over northern part of Kerala. Under the influence, many parts of South interior Karnataka, Rayalseema and Interior TN received bountiful rains. Such Isolated thunderstorms are expected to persist in many parts of these regions. North TN including Chennai has chances of isolated thunderstorms as well.
City Outlook:
Chennai – Warm day on cards with maximum temperature hovering around 36C, chances of evening thundershowers exist.
Vellore – Partially cloudy and warm with maximum temperature around 35c, followed by thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Coimbatore – A warm sunny day with temperature touching 32/33C, showers are possible through the day
Trichy – A hot day with temperatures touching 35/37c, spotty showers in the afternoon, followed by Thunderstorms during late evening/night
Madurai – A partly sunny day with a max of 35C, thundershowers are expected in the afternoon.
