The prolonged break period of monsoon has turned out to be a boon for Tamil Nadu. The convective thunderstorms that has engulfed parts of the state have fetched incredible amount of rains. The state may continue to see thunderstorms, North TN and Chennai in particular could witness isolated rains as well.
As far as rest of the country is concerned:- Heavy rains could be expected in Bihar, Gangetic plains and North eastern states, Moderate rains can be expected in the west coast and largely isolated in the rest of the country.

Chennai – Partly cloudy with a high of about 34 degrees. Possibility of Isolated thunderstorms towards afternoon/evening.
Vellore – Mostly cloudy with a high of about 34 degrees Chances of thunderstorms in the afternoon/evening.
Madurai – Partly cloudy with a high of about 36 degrees. Possibility of a shower or two during the evening.
Coimbatore – Mix of clouds and sun with a high of 32 degrees, spotty showers possible during the day.
Trichy – Mostly cloudy with mercury hovering around 35 degrees. Chances of isolated thunderstorms during afternoon/evening.
