Weakened VARDAH to give rains to South Karnataka and adjoining Tamil Nadu

After wreaking havoc to Chennai and adjacent districts with devastating winds and maniac rains , Very Severe Cyclonic storm “Vardah” has tracked westwards and weakened gradually into a depression this morning and it lies close to Bangalore. It is expected to move nearly westwards across south Karnataka and emerge into Arabian sea in the next 24-36 hours after causing fairly widespread rains with isolated heavy downpours over south interior Karnataka and adjoining north Kerala and north Tamilnadu.

City Outlook:

Chennai – An overcast and a breezy day with intermittent showers, heavy at times. Max of around 29 degrees and a low of 22 degrees.

Coimbatore – Mostly cloudy. High of around 29 degrees and a low of 22 degrees.

Madurai –  Mostly sunny. High of 33 degrees and a low of 23 degrees.

Trichy – Partly sunny day. High of around 32 degrees and a low of 23 degrees.

Vellore – A pleasant day with mostly cloudy skies and occasional drizzles. High of 28 degrees and a low of 21 degrees.
