Monsoon trough has firmly established near the foothills of the Himalayas and drenching most parts of North Eastern states and Bihar where heavy to very heavy falls are expected in isolated places. Heavy rains are also forecast over Odisha, East Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand and hills of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Subdued rainfall activity will continue in Kerala, Karnataka coasts.
Down South, Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation off North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh coasts has set up remarkable rains over many parts of Tamil Nadu with heavy rains at isolated places. Aforementioned synoptic condition continues to boost prospects of wet weather over various parts of the state. Rainfall activity will be mainly expected in the late evening/night time accompanied by gusty winds, thunder and lightning. The temperature across the state has taken a dip as a result.

Chennai – Balmy, partly sunny and humid with max of 33/34C. Thundershowers are possible in the evening.
Vellore – Cloudy conditions will prevail over the city with max settling at 32/33C. Chances are more for a drenching thunderstorm in the night.
Trichy – Very warm with max of 35/36C. Slight precipitation is expected by late evening.
Madurai – Mainly warm weather dominate with max of 35C. Thundershowers are expected in and around the city by evening.
Coimbatore – Partly sunny and pleasant at 32/33C. Good chance of a shower by evening.
