Wet weather to stick around in Coastal Tamil Nadu

Cyclonic circulation over Sri Lanka and adjoining South West Bay of Bengal continues to persist and it is thrusting rains all over coastal areas of North Tamil Nadu. Model consensus continues to float this circulation around the same area without further intensification. As a result, rains will continue to lash parts of North Coastal Tami Nadu for next several days. Heaviest of the rains will be confined to Chennai, Kancheepuram, Puducherry and Cuddalore belt.

Isolated rains are forecast for Northern and Western interiors of the state. Southern parts of the state will continue to remain less wet with patchy rains. Southern Kerala will witness scattered rains in the due course. A low pressure area is forecast to emerge in Andaman sea from South China Sea in next three days. Forecasts are still unclear as to where this system is destined.

City Outlook:

Chennai – Clouds and sun with balmy temperature of 29/30C. Plenty of showers possible at various times of the day.
