The dry westerly winds at last reaches Chennai with city recording 36 C and Airport 38 C both being the hottest day of the year. The interior regions bore the brunt of the heat wave with Salem and Karur recording the first 40 C of the year in the state. The dry westerly winds is expected to further increase the temperature in coming days with many places expected to record 38-40 C. This has nothing to do with the Equinox rumors spreading in Whatsapp.<\/p>\n

City Forecast<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chennai – A hot and uneasy day with maximum of around 36 -37 C with interior and western suburbs of Chennai touching 38 C. Night will continue to be unpleasant due to lack of sea breeze.<\/p>\n

Madurai – Might record its first 40 C of the year with many more to come and nights will continue to be around normal.<\/p>\n

Trichy – Similar to Madurai, it might record its first 40 C of the year with uncomfortable nights in the offing.<\/p>\n

Coimbatore – Its unpleasant times for the textile city with temperature peaking to 39 C with warm nights as per its standards.<\/p>\n

Vellore – Maximum temperature likely to hit 39 C with nights being cooler compared to other cities.<\/p>\n
