A trough in the form of a \u00a0wind discontinuity from\u00a0Vidarbha to South Tamil Nadu across\u00a0Telangana,\u00a0interior\u00a0Karnataka\u00a0&amp;\u00a0Tamilnadu extends upto 1.5\u00a0km above mean\u00a0sea\u00a0level. The increased convergence as a result of good surface heating, upper level divergence caused by an upper tropospheric westerly trough and the general topography combined with moisture could produce thunderstorms across the southern peninsula.<\/p>\n<p>The upper air cyclonic circulation near North East India is likely to cause wet weather over the northeastern states and Bangladesh with a few showers popping up in West Bengal. One or two showers might pop up along the western ghats in Maharashtra and the northern plains. Rains possible in the evening.<\/p>\n<p>Coimbatore &#8211; Warm day with cloudy skies. Maximum temperatures of 35-36 C likely with thundershowers in the evening and night.<\/p>\n<p>Trichy &#8211; A hot afternoon with partly cloudy skies. Showers possible in the evening, with temperatures peaking at 38-39 C.<\/p>\n<p>Vellore &#8211; Hot day on the cards at 37-38 C maximum, though clouds across the horizon and evening showers could provide relief.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>24 Hr Highlights:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>13 cm of glorious rains cool down the town of Padalur in the Perambalur district.
