Indian winter monsoon, a key source of precipitation for Tamil Nadu is likely to have a late onset this year. Delays in withdrawal of South West monsoon and westerly winds still prevailing over the peninsula are few of the factors which could be likely contributing to this delay. Numerical weather models indicate the easterly winds to pick up during the latter part of the month ushering in the much-awaited rain maker.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Meanwhile, interior thunderstorms are forecasted to continue over the next several days due to wind convergence and instability. Few of these could sustain until the coast creating possibilities of isolated sharp showers.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Vellore \u2013 Moderate chances of thunderstorms with a high of about 33 degrees and a low of about 24 degrees.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Tiruchi \u2013 Some clouds with a high of about 35 degrees and a low of about 27 degrees. Thunderstorms are expected to develop in the evening.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Madurai \u2013 Warm and sunny with a high of about 35 degrees and a low of about 28 degrees. Possibility of a heavy thunderstorm in the evening.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Coimbatore \u2013 Partly cloudy and breezy with a high of about 32 degrees and a low of about 23 degrees.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
