Yesterday\u2019s cyclonic storm \u2018Ockhi\u2019 over Southeast Arabian sea continued to move Westnorthwestwards and intensified into a severe cyclonic storm at 0000 hours UTC of today the 01st Dec 2017 over the same area. It further moved west-northwestwards and lay centred at 0300 hrs UTC of today, the 01st December 2017 over Lakshadweep area and adjoining Southeast Arabian Sea. This is expected to intensify further within the next 24 hours. Rains are expected to continue as the cyclone pulls in more bands from the Bay of Bengal via Tamil Nadu coast.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, The low-pressure area over south Andaman sea has intensified into a Well-marked low-pressure area and expected to track West\/Northwest. This is expected to move towards NTN\/SAP coast in coming days.<\/p>\n

Chennai<\/strong> \u2013 A cloudy day with a max temp of around 28 C. Few spells of rains likely to occur.<\/p>\n

Coimbatore<\/strong> \u2013 Generally cloudy sky with few spell of rains at various times. Ma temp will be around 26 C.<\/p>\n
