An unwelcome dose of heat poses a threat to Tamilnadu

The upper air cyclonic circulation lies over Comorin area off Sri Lanka coast and extends upto 0.9 km above mean sea level. Rain/thundershowers would occur at a few places over coastal Kerala & one or two places over Southern Tamilnadu.
An unwelcome dose of heat and dry weather would threaten entire Tamilnadu for another weeks time. A ridge of high pressure will continue to dominate the southern peninsula for at least another 7 to 10 days.
Parts of Kerala may continue to receive some showers throughout this week. Rain may return to interior and many parts of Tamilnadu during beginning of Tamil New year.
