“Bay” buzzing with activity as LPA forms over Equatorial Indian Ocean Adjoining SW Bay

A low pressure area has formed over equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining South West (SW) Bay of Bengal. It is likely to become well marked low pressure area and further concentrate into a depression during next 48 hours.
Rainfall to begin along South coastal TN in the next 24 hours. Rains likely to increase across TN in the subsequent days under the influence of the aforementioned system. Under the influence of this slow moving system, there is a fair chance of localized flooding in few pockets of south coastal TN. Meanwhile conditions are becoming favorable for onset of south west monsoon over Nicobar Islands, south Andaman Sea and parts of south Bay of Bengal over the next few days’ time.
Day time max temperatures are expected to rise over the weekend in isolated places of Northwest, West, East and Central India. North eastern regions would continue to get thunder showers over the weekend.

Chennai – Generally partly cloudy skies. Still a hot and sultry day ahead. A day high of 37 degrees and a low of 29 degrees and a high RH of around 68%.
Vellore – Another blazing day in prospect. A high of 39 degrees and a warm night with a low of 28 degrees C.
Tiruchirappalli – Few scattered clouds across the region with breaks in sunshine. A high of 38 degrees and a low of 29 degrees.
Madurai – A warm morning ahead and turning hot with a high of 38 degrees. A feeble chance of Thunder showers over the area.
Coimbatore – Partly cloudy skies at day break. A clear and sunny day in the offing. A high of 35 degrees and a reasonable night with a low of 25 degrees.
