Easterlies to weaken further across South India

A large area of low pressure across the Indo Gangetic plains continues to persist. Numerical models indicate an UAC to form over interior Maharashtra with a trough extending across Telangana and Chhattisgarh. The fore-mentioned conditions coupled along with the feeble high pressure area over the bay indicates weakening of the moderating easterly winds across the entire East coast. Uplifting of these moisture laden winds is set to occur along the North Eastern parts of the country leading to substantial rainfall in those areas.
Severe heat wave conditions can be expected to continue across interior parts of the country with places touching low 40’s even within short distances from the coast. The stage is all set for a record breaking summer ahead.
