‘Fast and Furious’ Roanu to become a severe cyclonic storm

Cyclone Roanu currently lies east off the Odisha coast in the Bay of Bengal, and is likely to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm and move east northeastwards towards south Bangladesh coast in the next 24 hours.
Heavy rain with winds likely over parts of Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal. Heavy to very heavy rain likely over parts Assam, Tripura and adjoining Northeast states. Fairly widespread rainfall possible over Kerala. Scattered rainfall possible over parts of Jharkhand, Coastal Andhra, South Interior and Coastal Karnataka.
Isolated thundershowers are likely over parts of Bihar, Eastern UP, Uttarakhand, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Konkan and Goa. Heat wave conditions possible over parts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi and Haryana.
Parts of interior Tamil Nadu and Delta region likely to see scattered thundershowers. Heavy rainfall likely over isolated places in South Tamil Nadu.
