The trough of low persists over the coastal parts of TN. This trough will continue to batter and affect the north TN and central part of TN (Delta districts), for the next 3 to 4 days. There is a threat of extremely heavy rains for the north coastal TN, including Chennai, Thiruvallur and Kanchipuram districts in the next 12 to 24 hours.
The numerical models are continuing to persist this trough near the TN coast for the next couple of days. The trough is moving into the Arabian Sea by this weekend or later.
Another trough which is in Srilanka will move towards Gulf Of Mannar and there would be an increase in rainfall for the south TN from weekend.
