After nearly a week of dry weather, thunderstorms are set to bring some respite to a few parts of the state as the Westerly winds are expected to weaken slightly. This will aid the Sea Breeze front to penetrate resulting in cooling late evening / overnight showers. Numerical models continue to indicate a trough in the form of a line of wind discontinuity over coastal TN which will further aid in the formation of convectional clouds. Scanty rainfall is expected across South Interior TN and adjoining Kerala coast owing to a weak offshore trough.
