Widespread rains will continue over various parts of the peninsula owing to the progress of the summer monsoon. Numerical models indicate slight strengthening of the seasonal offshore trough along the Kerala coast continuing to bring persistent rains across the region.
The Upper Air Circulation (UAC) over Southern Bay of Bengal persists. These synoptic conditions are also expected to aid in advancement of the delayed monsoon over the Arabian Sea.

Chennai – Mostly cloudy with possibility of scattered showers during the day. High of about 35 degrees and a low of about 28 degrees. Possibility of moderate rain over some places.
Madurai – Overcast day with off and on showers. High of about 34 degrees and a low of about 25 degrees.
Trichy – Mostly cloudy with possibility of light rain. High of about 35 degrees and a low of about 26 degrees.
Coimbatore – Overcast with light to moderate rain during the day. High of about 27 degrees and a low of about 22 degrees.
Vellore – Mostly cloudy with a high of about 35 degrees and a low of about 27 degrees. Possibility of evening rains on the cards.
