Low pressure area in Comorin sea, likely to bring more rains to Tamil Nadu

The low pressure area which was lying in Gulf of Mannar moved South West and now lies over comorin sea, Associated upper air circulation extending upto 3.6km
A.S.L persists. Also associated vorticity at 850mb strengthened. The trough from low pressure has extended up to North coastal TN The LPA is pulling huge moisture from bay, it is passing through coastal TN helping clouds to develop and and hit coastal TN bringing rains. Madden Julian oscillation is lying in Indian ocean with amplitude <0.5 is supplying moisture to low pressure, which is helping it to sustain and develop more convection around it. Computer models suggest that, the Low pressure area would move into  Arabian sea on Tuesday bringing more rains to kerala.

Rainfall forecast :

Under the influence of low pressure area lying in comorin sea,  Rains likely to occur in most places over Tamil Nadu with heavy to very heavy rains would occur over south Tamil Nadu, and delta districts of Tamil Nadu. Heavy rains would also occur over North coastal Tamil Nadu as trough has extended up these places.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall districts :

Tuticorin, thirunelveli, kanyakumari, Ramanathapuram, Pondicherry , cuddlore, and delta districts of Tamil Nadu.

Heavy rainfall warning districts :

Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, thiruvannamlai, Villupuram, Marakkanam….

City forecasts:

Chennai –  sky conditions would be partly cloudy to cloudy with intermittent rains would occur, heavy at times. Temperatures settling around 28°C

Vellore – Sky conditions would be partly cloudy, possibility of light rains in town. Temperatures settling around 27 °C

Madurai –  Likely to witness overcast skies with intermitted heavy rain. Temperatures settling around 24 °C

Tiruchi- Likely to see cloudy skies with intermitted showers, heavy at times. Temperatures settling around 26°C

Coimbatore –  Sky conditions would be partly cloudy, possibility of light showers. Temperatures settling around 26°C
