Monsoon expected to accelerate after a sluggish start

South west monsoon is seen making a sedate and a bit sluggish progress in its fascinating journey. Conditions are almost plumb for further advancement over remaining parts of central Arabian Sea, Konkan & Goa, areas south of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra & Marathwada and Deccan regions.
Meanwhile widespread rains are expected over coastal AP, Kerala. Scattered to fairly widespread rains in the offing for regions in and around North & South interior Karnataka. Southern tip of TN can see some showers in spots. Dry and warm weather to prevail elsewhere in TN.

Chennai – A windy morning. Mostly cloudy and warm during the day. A high of 37 degrees and a humid night at 30 degrees.
Coimbatore – A breezy and cool morning over the region. An ideal day for an outdoor activity. A high of 31 degrees and a low of 23 degrees.
Madurai – A slightly overcast morning, getting warmer during the day. Chance of a evening Thunderstorm. A high of 38 degrees and a low of 26 degrees.
Trichy – Few scattered clouds around. A stray afternoon/evening shower over the area. A high of 37 degrees and a low of 27.
Vellore – A stale and warm morning. Intermittent cloud cover over the region. A high of 37 degrees and a low of 27 degrees with a possibility of a shower or two.
