The Lower pressure area (LPA) continues to persist over East Central and the adjoining west central Arabian Sea. This will bring some isolated heavy rainfall over South TamilNadu.
Meanwhile, a trough of Low which is located over South east bay of Bengal and the adjoining areas is expected to become a Low Pressure Area in next 24 hours. Numerical weather prediction models foresee some significant development of this LPA and the likelihood of its possible impact in TN from next week.
A combined effect of the above 2 systems had already caused heavy rains in Chennai, Tiruvallur and Kanchipuram districts. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected over the next 5 days.
