Rainfall to Be Confined To the Southern Extreme of the Peninsula

A trough of low pressure near Comorin Sea and adjoining Lakshadweep Islands would bring fairly widespread rains with some events of heavy rainfall to southern Tamil Nadu and the deltas. Scattered showers would occur in Kerala, south coastal Karnataka with one or two heavy falls along the Ghats, especially in Kerala.

A high pressure situated near North Tamil Nadu would keep the weather pleasant and rain-free over there, with similar conditions in South Andhra Pradesh. The same pressure would be responsible for diverting some moisture from the trough north-east, towards an upper air circulation over Bangladesh and the adjoining NE states.

This would trigger some isolated, but intense thundershowers over parts of Telangana, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh.
