Rainfall to continue over South Tamil Nadu

The upper air cyclonic circulation lies over Comorin area off Sri Lanka coast and extends upto 0.9 km above mean sea level . The western disturbance runs roughly along longitude 76.0 deg E and north of 32.0 deg N .The upper air cyclonic circulation over South east Arabian sea & and adjoining Lakshadweep area now lies over southeast Arabian sea & neighborhood and extends upto 0.9 km above mean sea. Tamilnadu coastal areas would experience medium to heavy rains from 27th Dec 2015.

Rain/thundershowers would occur at a few places over South Tamilnadu & Pudduchery, Kerala and at isolated places over Andaman & Nicobar islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Odisha and Lakshadweep . Rain/Snow would occur at isolated places of Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.

Cold wave conditions would prevail at isolated places over Saurashtra & Kutch during next 48 hours. A fresh western disturbance as an upper air cyclonic circulation would affect western Himalayan region from 22nd Dec onwards .

Madurai- Cloudy conditions with thunder showers expected over parts of city. Max temperature may touch 30c.

Coimbatore- Few scattered clouds,  laced with warm sunshine. Max Temperature would be around 28-29c
