A Trough of Low continues to persist near the Comorin Sea and the adjoining areas. Under its influence, widespread rains have occurred over most parts of TN, especially heavy over the Delta regions and South Tamil Nadu districts. This Trough of Low is expected to move in a west, north westerly direction over Lakshadweep and adjoining areas. This would generate convective rain clouds over most parts of the state.
Isolated areas along coastal TN and Kerala can experience heavy falls at times. The rains are expected to decrease gradually after 48 hours because of the aforementioned trough movement away from us. Mathematical based Numerical Weather Models continue to indicate a possible Tropical Disturbance affecting the state in the last days of November, which needs to be monitored with the present flood situation still not improving.
