The cyclonic circulation embedded in the ITCZ responsible for deluging Chennai the previous day is expected to dip in latitude, bringing in widespread showers to north coastal Tamil Nadu.
While Chennai can expect a few showers with a couple of heavier spells, larger rainfall accumulations can be expected along the coast more south of the city.
Since the cyclonic circulation embedded in the ITCZ still cuts across Tamil Nadu, the door remains open for some afternoon and evening showers in the interiors.
On the other hand, the trough of low pressure over southeast Bay continues to organise under the presence of moist equatorial westerlies wrapping into it. This is expected to concentrate into a low pressure area (LPA) and move largely west or west north west.
