South west monsoon hits Kerala officially

The much awaited South West Monsoon has set officially in Kerala with outbursts of rain across the west coast. The Northern limit of the Monsoon now covers most parts of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, South Bay and parts of east central Bay. The surge of westerlies extends up to near mid tropospheric levels aloft south Arabian sea.
Meanwhile, an Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation is seen aloft offshore Kanara coast along with an offshore trough, will set the right conditions for prolonged rains along coastal Karnataka and Kerala. Rain/ thunderstorms will continue across parts of north interior and coastal TN, gradually decreasing in the days to come.
City Outlook:
Chennai to wake up with partly cloudy skies and will settle for a day time high of 36 C. Isolated late evening rain chance persists.
Coimbatore will experience a cool and pleasant day with a day time high of 32 C.
Vellore will see a warm weather with a day time high settling close to 34/35 C. A late afternoon/ evening shower might be seen.
Madurai will stay comfortable with mercury levels settling around 35 C.
Trichy will be warm and humid with a day time high of 35 C.
