Temperature set to rise across the state

While parts of east India including Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha are reeling under severe heat wave conditions with temperature soaring as high as mid forties, the south is also experiencing pretty above normal day time highs. Wind patterns are expected to change for a while which will be predominantly land based winds, as a result of which many places will see a considerable rise in temperature. It could quite windy too over north coastal districts of TN for the next few days.

City Forecast:

Chennai will have a day time high of 36/37 C with a degree more in the suburbs.

Vellore will stay hot and dry with maximum hitting the low forties.

Trichy will be hot and sultry with a maximum of 40 C

Madurai will be under sweltering sunshine with a maximum of 39/40 C

Coimbatore to stay warm with a maximum of 38 C
