Widespread showers to continue across the peninsula

The summer storm currently active over TN will continue to bring widespread rains and windy conditions across most parts of the peninsula. The Well-Marked low pressure area over North Srilanka and adjoining Gulf of Mannar & South-West Bay of Bengal persists. Associated Upper Air cyclonic Circulation extending upto 3.6 km above Mean Sea Level persists. The system is likely to move North North-westwards towards North Tamilnadu coast and concentrate into a depression during next 48 hours.
Localized heavy to very heavy showers are possible especially across Central and North TN.
City Forecast:
Chennai – Light to moderate showers will continue through the day. High of about 32 degrees and a low of 27 degrees. Isolated heavy spells possible in the southern suburbs.
Madurai – Moderate to heavy rain will start the day with a chance of rain abating in the evening. High of about 31 degrees and a low of 24 degrees.
Coimbatore – Moderate to heavy rain with a possibility of flooding overnight. High of about 26 degrees and a low of 23 degrees.
Trichy – Moderate to heavy rain with a high of about 30 degrees and a low of about 26 degrees.
Vellore – Light rains and overcast conditions will alternate with a high of about 31 degrees and a low of 25 degrees.

Rain likely over Chittoor and Nellore districts

The tropical depression Invest-91B likely to trigger some showers to South coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. The intensity of rains will pick from today’s afternoon. Rest of the places in Andhra Pradesh likely to witness cloudy skies with intermediate light rains over isolated places. The heat wave condition came to an ebb bringing up much needed relief. Ghat areas of Tirumala hills to witness heavy rainfall associated with oragraphic lifting. Conditions are becoming favourable for the onset of South-West Monsoon over Nicobar Islands today.
