All eyes on Bay in anticipation of an upcoming system
This is the time of the year when sufficiently warm waters of the North Indian ocean could spin up a system or two with an active MJO spicing things up. It’s going to be another warm day in most parts of TN with a reduction in the isolated thunderstorms, which happened in the past couple of days due to the trough action.
The focus now is largely shifting to the development of a Low pressure system (and subsequent intensification) in south west bay within the next couple of days, the genesis point is still unclear. While the popular numerical models are not in agreement with respect to the genesis, track, intensity as such, it calls for a very close tracking in the days to come. At the moment different possibilities arise right from staying in lower latitudes to recurving away from Indian peninsula to the northeast, opening up a faint ray of hope to some of the parched areas in the eastern coast of India.
